Can anybody tell me about this holster?

It's got the S&W logo on the snap andstamped on the back.
It came with an old .38 in it.
I pretty much know what the gun is (thanks to this forum ) but I'd like to know something about the holster too.

Correct. Probably from the 1970's. S&W sold their holster operations, located in NC, to Gould & Goodrich in 1984.
