Can you identify this brass?

I shot with a friend this past week and he brought out his dad's old Ruger Blackhawk 3-screw and a box of ammo that looked to have been manufactured by a small "no-name" ammo company (at least I could not see the name as the label had come loose and was gone). The loads were "Ruger" type in terms of recoil! Ouch.

Anyway, who makes this brass? I'm at a loss. A couple pics are included.

Thanks.

Mr. Phil...I'll bet you nailed it! The box did not look like the Privi Partisan ammo boxes I've seen...but who knows...it cold have been reloaded.

Over the years I've been loading a few pieces of this brass in .45 ACP. One characteristic of it is very deep primer pockets and I generally don't reload this stuff because of that.

Yeah, it's Prvi Partizan/Hanson. It used to be good stuff, especially the military rifle calibers. I went through a butt load of their 6.5x55mm, 7.62x54mm, .303 British, and 7.92x57mm. In Latin letters, the headstamp is actually "PPU", just as the Greek .30-06 and .303 marked "MXH" is really "MHN".

When reloading the rifle cases, I noticed they were manufactured EXACTLY at the maximum length. Once fired cases ALWAYS had to be trimmed the first time you reloaded them. Yugoslavia was a socialist country, and they did everything according to "the plan".

AACD,
Thanks. I ran into a guy at a gunshop yesterday that said the same thing about the 30.06 brass.
