Somebody on a recent thread about hard to find parts gave a shoutout to Midwest Gun Works in Pevely, MO (just south of the most dangerous city in America). My .38/44 Heavy Duty had been in all its pieces on the work bench while I searched for a couple small parts to get it up and running. Brownell’s et al didn’t have or didn’t understand what I wanted. Found the two parts I needed on the MGW website, ordered online, picked them up two days later at the office. The .38/44 Heavy Duty is now reassembled and has passed all of the function tests. Great outfit to deal with. Amazingly, I had never heard of them until couple weeks ago here, even though they’re only a little over 100 miles straight north on the Interstate. Love this forum!

NICE! Cool to hear that you got what you needed to get the old girl up and running again.

In regards to your other comment, I was also reading just the other day that my original home town (St. Louis) is now considered by some measures to be the most dangerous city in the US. AMAZING

I used MGW to repair a older Browning Superposed Shotgun for my BIL.

Browning quoted $3k and indicated 12-18 months turnaround. MGW completed the work in less than 8 weeks and at 1/3 of the cost.

Can’t say enough good things about Midwest Gun Works.

I use them for much of my 5.7 ammunition. Great vendor!
