Its that time again a week of all auctions of every car you can dream of. I have always enjoyed watching it on TV and like seeing the crowds checking out all the cars.

Well, this year is different...

My wife and I are going, well be at the show Friday and Saturday. I don't know exactly what time well do what but we're like the wind...

Maybe you'll see me on TV...

I am hoping not to buy anything, well, anything big, well maybe, I don't know well see ;)

Any of you guys going? Been before?

Tom, we went to an auction in Oct in Vegas. We were able to see the cars queuing up to go on the block also, and had a great time.

Well, I'm not a car "guy" but
Yes, It was a bucket list item for me. 2015 the year the Ron Pratte collection was sold.
Saw the GM Futurliner sell for $4 million.
And Carrol Shelby 427 Cobra Super Snake sell for $5.1 million
I paid the $$$ to be on the bidder floor so had the run of the place. (and drinks)
I did actually bid a couple of times but didn't buy anything.
(great restraint on my part as my bank letter of guarantee was for $100,000)
I doubt you can even see all the cars in 2 days. This year has the largest list of consignments ever.
Even the vendor displays are interesting.
That was the year that Polaris released the Slingshot, they had a display there and visited with them as the Slingshot was made in my hometown.
Have fun!!

I have a cousin who lives in Mesa, he goes every year, every time he sees a car he wants to bid on his wife says no, she had her picture taken with Gas Monkey.

Have fun and wear comfortable shoes. I have went to the smaller B.J. auction in Connecticut 3 times and its quite the show.

Definitely a gear head will see a lot of cool rather expensive toys!:D Also people watching is first class!

I lived in Buckeye, AZ for years and enjoyed the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale show with my son every year. We spent more time looking at the vehicles in the tents than at the auction hall.

Security does search you for weapons of any kind, food, and beverages (beyond the one small bottle of water allowed).

Make sure you note where you parked your car or you'll join others wandering about the huge parking area.

Have a great time!

On my bucket list.

Will be watching on teevee just like all the other Barrett Jackson auctions but really need to attend one.

Will need a wingman to keep me from buying something...or a bigger garage. :)

Have fun, all who are there in person.

Be safe.

If you like classic automobiles and are anywhere near Scottsdale, Arizona at this time, by all means GO to the Barrett-Jackson extravaganza. I went for a number of years just to photograph many cars that stuck in my memory as a youth, but have become out of reach to afford now. The opportunities for photography abound, providing you can get the looky-loos to get out of the picture!

The prices for attendance and the huge parking snarls have discouraged me from going in recent years, but if you're new to this event, by all means GO. You won't regret it!

John

This worked out for us because my wife is on a six month (or more) assignment in Pheonix. Instead of her coming back this weekend, I'll just fly out.

I booked a very nice resort hotel that has a shuttle service to the event. No need to worry about parking or dealing with a rental car.

I don't know how things work or where to go, but I have tickets in hand. We have skybox tickets so that should be fun, I'm told free food and drinks. We enjoy people watching and going with the flow.
