Carl Schlieper Eye Brand (Puma clone) hunting knife; made in Germany circa 1988 I'm guessing; stag handles, carbon steel blade; was it made by Puma under contract? Don't know. Maybe.

Will post two posts to get all photos in.

Nice copy of the Puma "White Hunter". I own 3 or 4 "Eye Brand" stag handle knives myself (though not a White Hunter style), and they are very well made knives. Other than region of manufacture, I don't believe they have any direct connection to Puma, at least that I know of.

It does not have the White Hunter's bread knife serrations or sharp edge along its back. I do not like those features so it would be a better knife for me. Carl Schlieper carbon steel knives have a good reputation.

Yes, they do. In fact, I am told that Texas ranchers LOVE the Carl Schlieper "Sod Buster" carbon steel folding knives. The company went bankrupt circa 1995 so they are no longer made.
