Lot more in the full article.

I don't watch many movies or tv, so my primary recollection is Apollo Creed in Rocky.

“Sundog/George Washington Lincoln Brown: They didn't want to let me in the Majors and you know why.
- Sergeant Edgar Millen: Damn right, I know why. I musta heard that story six hundred times...
- Vanessa: Why?
- Sundog: I was too good, that's why. I'd a pitched that ball down Ty Cobb's throat and made George Sisler look like an electric fan.”

Couldn't stomach the Rocky movies, so I have no recollection of him in those films. I do remember him in Predator and Force 10 from Navarone. Sad loss. RIP.

This was a rumor a few months ago. He was just in a Superbowl commercial with Rob Gronzkowski. Are we sure it’s true ?

Sorry to learn that a fellow San Diego State alum has passed away too soon. During the 1968 football season, Carl played linebacker alongside Fred Dryer, who, after a long NFL career, also had a successful acting career, primarily as the star of the TV show, Hunter. They must have been pretty good linebackers, as the Aztecs, coached by the late, great Don Coryell, were undefeated that year and were voted as small college national champions.
R.I.P., Carl.
