I've got a couple I'd like to get back to case hardened colors too! On newer guns, it's possible to simply replace nickel/chrome hammers and triggers with case hardened old stock. But....if the gun is old.....like my 1939 K22 Outdoorsman, parts are not that easy to find.
 
The case hardening process is difficult at best, and bad things can go wrong with hammers.

The best in the business is Turnbull Restorations. They can not only match the types of color casing as done by the old manufactures, they're also experts at color casing hammers without having those bad things happen.
Turnbull is one of the very few places that can color case a Colt SAA hammer and not botch it up.
