Cattle Prod vs Bear

I can tell you first hand that cattle prods and shock devices can actually make an animal more aggressive if deployed at the wrong time and during high drive moments.

Maybe somebody should have reminded "Her" that a Black Bear is a Wild Animal but more than likely she's one of those 'Green Piece' types that think if you can hand feed a critter once, then they will be your Buddy for life!!! This is very true; of course, it may only be for the rest of your life but then I guess that would qualify, too!

Let see: Female Bear, Spring Time, Bear may be Pregnant which means shebear's very close to dropping that cub, and somebody sticks Bear with a Cattle Prod. Sounds like a recipe for a trip to the ER to me!!!

Somehow, I think there may be some management culpability here. Many 23 year-olds still believe in their immortality. Someone older and wiser should have figured out how to feed the bear without going into the pen, huh? At least when the bear is in there.

Obviously they equipped her with the cattle prod and the pepper spray. Maybe she didn't get enough training in their use.

We had one of those places between Dallas and Forth Worth. It was on bottom-land, and flooded periodically. It finally got closed. It was not the finest run place in the world.

On the other had, Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, southwest of here, seems to be a model establishment.

She certainly has some responsibility for what happened, but I think that there's some to go around a bit too.

She might not be a GreenPeace person, probably not, since she wouldn't want to work with locked up animals. She could be clueless, and/or she could really need the job.

Please note, the way the Bull in that you-tube video acted upon recovery from the lightning.
Anyone think that behavior is an anomaly?

Didn't take long after the trigger was let off on that taser either! That bull was lookin' for payback in a hurry!

Does a bull market bounce back faster than a bear market?

I had a 400 lb boar get out once and used a cattle prod on him to try to get him headed back to the pen. He charged me, caught me in the groin, dumped me on the ground, cut me across the stomach, and bit me in the thigh before I could get him kicked off of me.

Took a small fence post to get him moving in the right direction. Got him back in the pen and shot him. I wasn't taking a chance on him getting to one of the kids next time.

Will definitely not use a prod on a big hog again.

Oh great a bear thread. I'm going into the Rockies this summer, You know bear country. Whay should I carry? .44 a .50 ? Is one speed loader enough? ......

Better avoid the situation altogether. You definitely don't wanna get prodded by a bear.

That reminds me of a joke.

A man decides he is going to take up bear hunting. HE gets his stuff and goes out on the first day. He feels at tap on his shoulder, turns around and sees a huge bear standing behind him. The bear bends him over and has his way with him.
On the second day the hunter goes out to try to find this bear. He feels a tap on his shoulder, turns around to find the same bear. Once again the bear bends him over and has his way with him.
Now the hunter is really determined. Goes out on the third day. He feels a tap on his shoulder, turns around and finds the same bear behind him. This time the bear looks at him and says, "you aren't here for the hunting are you?"
