CBS reports on nationwide reciprocity.

The vote was 58-39 in favor of the provision establishing concealed carry permit reciprocity in the 48 states that have concealed weapons laws. That fell two votes short of the 60 needed to approve the measure, offered as an amendment to a defense spending bill.

Nation Reciprocity

I just heard on the radio that this was defeated by 2 votes. Schumer says, "This will save many lives." He is such a dodo!

I also just read some of Obama's quotes...one is: "My job is to inspire people to take ownership of this country." That's a March 2004 quote.

That evokes several thoughts: a. Is he advocating revolution? b. If the people take "ownership", why is he trying to dictate? c. Is "ownership" a euphemism for collectives, such as the Stalinistic socialism?

Q: What's the best sight in the World? A: Millions of illegal aliens headed back over the border with Schumer, Obama, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Kennedy, etc.......in a donkey cart.

Stalinistic socialism? Who built the gulag Guantanamo? Oh yeah, Bush, that's right. Who marginalized Congress? Bush. Who made loyalty to party more important an than loyalty to the Constitution? Bush. Who had the ability to declare anyone, including U.S. citizens, an "enemy combatants", a term whose definition only existed in Bush's head, and held in a gulag indefinitely? Bush. Who lied about the reason for invading Iraq? Bush and company. Who lied that the U.S. "does not torture?" Bush.

Under Bush we were headed toward a totalitarian, authoritarian government. At least now we can breath.

Everything Obama has been accused of, every prediction that his enemies have made, have not come true. And they won't.

Thune vote

Not to worry... it never would have passed.

Those 20 D votes would have evaporated quickly if it had required a simple majority vote.

This is nothing but a cover vote for Democrats from rural states. While maybe 6-8 of the D votes were from the heart, the rest were made knowing the 60 votes weren't there.

The question to ask is, why wasn't this proposed in 2001-2006 when the GOP had control of the whole process?

Hi TXbug,
I think Marines occupied Guantanamo in the 1800's,
I think most presidents marginalized congress, I think party lines were drawn up long before a Bush was in the whitehouse, I think I remember Bill Clinton warning about Sadam Hussien having WMD's and when an American is picked up on the battlefield fighting for the Taliban I dont care what they call him or what they do with him.
Chill out a little, you give George too much credit.
You won. Your "Hope and change" is on it's way.
Also, when it gets here, try some of this.

It will make it easier to deal with.
