I've been nosing about for ammo for SD for the .38 locally and stuff is limited, however I can find the Blazer 125gr +P JHP on a fair basis,I've shot a good amount of it and it seems to work pretty darn good on possums so I may carry it until I get something else.

I know right off it may not be the best but I'd have to guess it'd screw up some bad guys day to get hit with it.

For some reason there's a load of the 110gr SD ammo in these parts both +P and non +P,every shop I go to has some flavor/brand of it.

I've shot up a bunch of the CCI alum. case stuff in 44 & 357 mag and 40 S&W as well. Never had a problem with it. If I didn't have a few other varieties around for carry, it wouldn't bother me a bit to keep it for sd purposes.

It's sort of like Magtech, IMHO, it does not have the brand name but from what I've seen, it's in the American Eagle/Remington UMC range. It's good stuff, just can't reload it.

At a time (many moons ago) I used the 38 +P 158gr LSWCHP as a duty load. I also issued it to someone as it was what I had assess to and it would make ammo inspection easy (I once found this guy with three different kinds of ammo in his M66).

I don't know if I would use it for SD but I do like it for range use.

I use it in my M36 for Self Defense all of the time. Certainly no question as to whether or not it was a factory round or a reload. They have been very accurate and smooth in ejection. What's not to like about that?

Blazer ammo has always worked well for me and the price is reasonable also. If it shoots well in your weapon than you should be fine.

My main, numba one, thing is it's easy to get here and I don't have to order it,and at that the "good stuff" is hard to find even online,so I have this habit of making do with the best I can find locally.

Like using a bullet that's "outdated",yes it's not the best anymore but it still works so it'll do.

Soon as I can find some of the 135gr +P short barrel wonder ammo I'll buy it,for now I'm still lethal :D

Though I won't use Blazer aluminum in an auto for SD,I've had a bullet get jammed back in the case, range shooting only with that!

I've seen literally millions of 124gr Blazer 9mm founds go downrange over the years (it's what we used for training ammo in our S&W and Glock 9mms since 1989) and have noted it's good ammo.
It wouldn't be my first choice for SD carry, but in your situation it ain't bad.

Blazer ammo has been on the market for at least 25 years, and I can't remember ever hearing a single complaints from anybody using it in revolvers or autos other than the cases are not reloadable. I would not hesitate to use it for SD or anything else. The same does NOT apply to steel case ammo.

blazier ammo

the one weapon that it jams up is my COLT ANCONDA.SHOOTS just fine in my 4566tsw an 1006........

+1, that's the issue right there. It's fine ammunition, but my M&P40c thoroughly dislikes it, and spits it out in every direction... (functions perfectly, and much better than similarly priced steel case, but not accurate in my gun)
