Went to my local gun shop to pick up the last few goodies for my 15-22, for now! They had CCI factory seconds, $10.00 for 200 each. He said they were supposed to average 1 dud per 100, I grabbed a box to see how they would do. Has anyone else ever tried these? :)

When i can buy bulk 500-550 for $16 id definitely stay away from anything thats a seconds item. Id venture to guess they were rejected for allot more than a dud or two.

I do agree with you, but they couldn't be any worse than Rem Golds, just thought I'd give em' a try. Plus, it's another reason to tell the wife I'm going out shootin', "gotta try this stuff out dear". :D

Which ones did you get?

CCI Standard velocity (not seconds) at Dick's Sporting Goods is $24.99 / 500

Unfortunately finding CCI's around here are still about $7.50-$10.00 for a hundred. If I could find them at what Dick's SG's was selling them for I'd buy them. I posted before that all the walmarts within a 30 mile radius of me (5) don't sell the same thing, none sell CCI's that I could find. What sucks is those who do sell CCI's know this, and their prices are outrageous. Maybe I could find them on the internet cheaper, but then shipping sometimes overides the savings. I guess I've just got to keep an eye open for sales, but I still will buy something sometimes and try it at least once. :(

Well, I found out there's a Dick's SG's 50 miles away in SLC and called them. They are out of CCI's, and they cost $9.99 per box of 100. :(

I can't imagine any ammo company knowingly let "seconds" go out the door. "seconds" is the kind of stuff that causes ammo recalls. my opinion would be a gunshop rumor.

Sorry Phil, standard velocity round nose. I had 300 rounds of mini mag hp when I first got my 15-22, but those went fast. For the last year, .22's of any kind were hard to find around here, but it's getting better. I've been trying different stuff to find something of a happy medium. Really though, my only issues have been a dozen or so failure to fire, and less than that on failure to eject, no OOB's. With about 1500 through the gun so far, so I can't really complain. Sorry I wasn't more clear. :)
Here's a pic after today's addition.

Unless someone is selling this and saying it's CCI, I'm not sure, they were taking this out of cases printed "CCI". I'll have to look into this further.

I have never seen CCI ammo marked like that before. regardless of price I would have passed on it. you might find the duds but then again you might find some with extra powder and that wouldn't be good either.

I bought two boxes of the high velocity. It looks like there was too much lube on the bullet. They shoot perfectly fine out of several semi-autos so far.

Once fired?

LOL!

I've actually had folks at the range ask if I'm saving my .22lr brass for reloading. Well.... they're usually shooting in the station to the right knee-deep in spent casings... so maybe they're just trying to be polite... :D:D:D:D
