Does anyone know the Center Line of barrel to the top of the picatinny rail on the M&P 15-22 PC Rifle?

I'll be buying some medium 1" scope mounts and the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II 3-9X40mm scope and want the exact dimension (Sight Height) to the center of the scope to use in the Nikon SpotOn software/app for BDC calculations. I'll be putting calipers on the scope rings to get that dimesnion I need.

You own the gun and calipers..;)

True, but how do you even caliper from the centerline of the barrel to the top of the picatinny rail where the scope mounts? Am I missing something in your comment?

My redneck method. Lay rifle with mounted optic on flat surface. Using 2 cleaning rods, 1 rod and other object, string, etc, insert 1 rod into muzzle end of barrel. Align other object with center of optic glass. Maintaining parallel, measure from center of cleaning rod to center of object, string, etc.

It's ~1 3/16" from bore center to the top of the picatinny rail.
I don't think you'll be using "some medium 1" scope mounts" unless you're planning on surgical reconstruction of your cheek. We use tall scope mounts for a reason. ~1 9/16" from top of rail to scope center being pretty normal.

I like that. Thanks

My top of rail to scope center is 1.0625" with the rings I'm using. So looks like I'm at 2.25" from bore center to scope center. Just enough room to put the caps on (which I usually leave off anyway) and puts the scope as close to bore center as possible with the Nikon Prostaff 3-9 X 40
