Central Florida S&W Gunsmith?

I just bought a Model 64 from J&G and I really like it. I would like to have some gunsmithing work done on it to make it a great carry peice and maybe have the 4" barrel cut to 3". It also needs to be refinished. Anyone know a Central Florida area S&W gunsmith that you trust? I know I could send it to the Performance Center but I would like to go local first if I can.

Myself and most of the shooters I know that have been shooting for more than a couple years seem to trust Dick at East Orange Shooting Sports.
Not that I know if he can/would do this, but I believe he would give you an honest straight answer.

I, and a couple of friends have sent some custom work to be done over down at Pickett Weaponry in Newberry- couple of S&W's and Rugers.

The fellow over there does excellent work, and has been a bit more timely than other establishments I've used.
He's reasonably priced too. He's got a gun of mine right now.

There is another one that some friends use, but he's up in Jacksonville area and works out of the Curry Thomas Hardware Store, and only on certain days. I'm told he does good work on well, everything- but I've never tried him personally, but I've seen his work and was impressed.

Jim Rose used to be in Jacksonville, but I heard he recently went out of business...he was very good, and highly opinionated.
But then again, most of us are.
