Gang I've been pouring concrete and mixing cement for a few days now. My shirt ends up soaked and long story short, my nipples are about ready to come off!! Lots of soreness and blood... have been putting bandaids on but they get wet and fall off.

Construction guys, runners, etc. what do you do for your chafed nips? Mine sting and I need relief!! Thanks in advance,

Jay

Concrete has a pretty high lime content, which can cause serious skin irritation, rashes, cracking, bleeding, etc. Keep it clean (soap, warm water, frequently). Check the local drug stores for Cornhuskers Lotion, a glycerin-based solution that sooths and helps with healing. If you can't find Cornhuskers Lotion try some Aloe-based skin lotion.

The bra suggestion (or maybe Kramer's invention the "bro") was meant as a joke - I think.

But along those same lines a super-snug fitting t-shirt - one that is a couple of sizes too small - would probably work the same way. Wash it in hot water and dry it on high a time or two to make sure it is done shrinking and has no starch or anything left in it.

Unless you want to try to find a sport bra in your size.

The t-shirt and some bag balm should fix you right up.

I was the first to read the thread, and wanted to see where it was headed. Is portland dust getting on you? Immediate relief would come from a shower and a day off. I have been aggravated by salt in my sweat and outside abrasion (not my nipples). Sometimes two t-shirts help. I prefer cotton. There are things like Underarmor shirts that will provide some skid protection. Under a work shirt.

If your shirt gets sweaty and it dries, the salt christalizes it's like glass. Keep changing your shirt and only wear cotton.

During the summer, heat builds up under my body armor and soaks my propylene t shirt. After a couple of hours it starts to rub my nipples raw.

What works for me, is to of course, wash with an antibacterial soap. I started off using Neosporin, but switched to Aquafore. It is very thick. Put it on at night then again in the morning. Usually clears it up in a day.

I have been doing concrete work my entire career and this particular affliction has not affected me. But Portland is a very bad substance and if for some reason you got it on your sensitive bits I'd rinse with water and repeat then coat with Polysporin. It actually does work overnight. Then I'd ask myself how to place concrete differently.

If you didn't get concrete on them, I'd guess you are suffering from what is known around here as as wolf bite. Simple chafing. Mostly happens on inner thighs but can jump out anywhere I suppose. Take appropriate measures as suggested previously, looser or tighter clothing, some kind of lube/lotion or powder.
