Anyone out there offer a chamber reaming service for a cap and ball six shooter? If have a 1858 Remy (Uberti) .44 and the groove to groove diameter is .453 or so, but my throats Mike at only .448 or so.

I’d like to open up the Chambers to .453 as I plan to use .457 round balls as that should be a good combo for bearing surface.

I know Brownells sells a kit for this but it’s close to $100. I’d rather have a Smith do it to make sure it’s done right.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Good idea. Smith would be good choice. G-G is .453 so probably best to do the cylinder at .454 as that would give work not only with the round balls but if you want to shoot conicals it should give you good results swell. Sincerely. bruce.
