Lately I've been on a 3rd Generation kick. But today, I mixed it up a bit.
1st off, I got a Walther CCP M2+ 9mm a few months ago. Totally unreliable jam-o-matic. Sent it back for repair. They sent me a new pistol.
World of difference. Figured out pretty quickly that it prefers 115gr FMJ, especially the Norma ammo I purchased recently. No pics, but the X, 10, and 9 ring on a B27 at 25ft were well perforated, single handed, 5 rd strings, 25rds total.
The CCP can have the mag release reversed, which is nice, but I wish it was a ambi safety pistol. It's accurate, and a soft shooter. But not really a lefty friendly CCW. It might be a good car gun, though.
2nd was a Ruger MkIII 22/45 5" heavy barrel. Now, usually I'm not a fan of the III and IV Ruger .22's, but this is an exception. I'll overlook the nanny features for the 1911 grip feel and decent sights and trigger.
A pleasure to shoot. If I ever thought about getting back into Bullseye, I'd put a better trigger in it. But for now, we're good.
Finally, I put the CMMG .22 conversion kit in my Colt M4 Carbine. What a pleasure to shoot!
Anyway, it was a cheap date. Glad that Walther redeemed themselves, and it was a reminder that .22 cal be fun
