If I purchase an older gun (pre 1960) and it has a worn finish, can you have it case hardened? If yes, what would be the cost? Would you suggest frame only or frame/cylinder or frame/cylinder/trigger/hammer. I have seen many internet pictures of guns done by Turnbill and they look incredible.

Advice & comments please.

There's always some risk color case hardening with the frame warping.
About whether you can have the frame case colored, as above, talk to THE experts at Doug Turnbull.

Note that you cannot color case a cylinder. You can do a hammer and trigger for sure since S&W did that for years.

Also note that color case hardening is probably the most fragile and easily worn gun finish. Even much exposure to sunlight will fade it.
