I came across this today. I was looking for scenes from the great shoot 'em up western "The Culpepper Cattle Co." and saw that this fine character actor died of lung cancer at age 80 this year. He was one of those guys that could help make bad movies good and good movies great. You know him even if you think you don't by his name. That's him kneeling on the left in a great pose from the above mentioned movie. Most notable movies that come to mind are Cool Hand Luke and Easy Rider. Bob Dylan said he sang great blues.

I'll be darn'ed, first I'v heard' Wyatt, & sorry to hear. :(
He sure was in a bunch of great stuff*
.. I loved the part in easy rider when he told Dennis Hopper's
character to be a "Triffle" more polite as they were getting stoned
on the ancient burial grounds*
I liked his character in the funky biker movie "Angel Unchained"
with Don Stroud & Tyne Daily' a few years after Easy Rider*

This is a surprise to me ... Askew was a fine actor. I was even more surprised to recently find out my all time favorite character actor Richard Lynch passed earlier this year as well.

Though I loved Askew in "Easy Rider", I remember him most for his stoic and cruel performance in "Cool Hand Luke" ...

Richard Lynch was great, too. Especially in The SevenUps where he shoots a 3 1/2" Model 27...a lot.
