Vltor BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle Assembly AR-15 Aluminum Black

Anyone used, successfully, the VLTOR BCM Gunfighter medium size aftermarket aluminim charging handle? Got mine today from Midwayusa and cannot get it to work. It is so tight, slidding in, that even with the bolt removed it will not slide into the receiver. If successful, did you have to grind on the handle to make it work? Does it need graphite or some other lubricant? Instructions on the package don't really say. It does say 5.56mm on the handle, but online says it fits all AR15's. Nice piece of equipment, hope to make it work. I purchased it to extend the handle, out some, beyond the Luepold scope I've mounted. Any help for a newbie will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

An AR15 charging handle will not work in the 15-22. Take your oem one and compare it against the bcm. It'll be obvious then why it will not work (dimensionally). There are aftermarket handles specifically for the 15-22. Google "S&W 15-22 charging handle."

FYI ...

The 15-22 is NOT an AR15. It is an AR15 "style" of rifle that accepts SOME AR15 parts; buttstocks, FCG parts, sights and fore ends. Uppers and lowers are not interchangeable.

The 15-22 lower is not Mil-Spec.

If you are wanting to simply extend the latch, take a look at NDZ performance website. They do 15-22 specific latches that will fit the OEM charging handle also they do 15-22 specific swap out handles.

Plinker Tactical makes a nice charging handle for 15-22. I have had one on mine for three years.
