Cheaha Challenge 2021 (bicycle race)

I must brag on my Son in Law a little.

He completed the Cheaha Challenge 2021, a 100 mile and 10,000 feet elevation gain, in 6 hours, 20 minutes yesterday, May 16, 2021. Not bad for a 56 year old male.

He also qualified for the Grand Fondo race, held in Herzegovian, Bosnia later this year.

I've stayed at Cheaha State Park several times. There are some serious hills there. I'm guessing they were racing uphill. Had they been racing downhill the race wouldn't last very long.

My wife and I drove through there on US 78 around noon Eastern time Sunday. Bikers everywhere!

It’s a very challenging course.
