For years I said I was going to buy one of these "just because" but other things got in the way. I saw this one at the LGS the other day, and had nothing else going on, so I picked it up. No idea what I'm really going to use it for, but it won't eat anything.

Harrington & Richardson 929, 9 shot, 22 LR. 2 1/2" barrel, DA/SA trigger, swing out cylinder. The DA trigger isn't as bad as a Nagant. S/A isn't too bad.

The front sight was missing, and I couldn't find one for the 2 1/2" barrel online, so I looked around for something to fit in the slot. Vola...a penny was a perfect fit. I cut the penny in half, filed it down, "blued" it with a Sharpie marker (I had to do the left side again) epoxied it in, and we're in business.

No idea what that business will be, but we're in it. :D

I like big bullets but I think the 9 shot .22s are a long way from useless. They are fun to plink with and walking into 9 .22s would be like walking into a hornets nest and not many people can do that. Larry

Exactly! People argue over caliber, but my philosophy is this:

Incoming rounds, regardless of caliber, have the right-of-way!

Maybe could see better with new penny left as is? Then when it began to tarnish, put in a new penny.:D

The H&R revolvers are inexpensive, not cheap! I've snapped up several at bargain prices thru the years, and never regretted a one.

Well sure, but "cheap" is more fun to say, and it draws more attention. :)

I didn't want glare from a shiney front sight distracting me. :D

H&R Target Model

I've got one almost identical except I silvered a dime in for front
sight. I wanted target model. My brother is always making fun
of me for buying H&R and IJ pistols at Flea Markets and Yard
sales. They can usually be had for $40-60 at these places. A
little tune up if required and you've got a good piece of trading
stock. 22s are always easy to trade or sell.

I used to say that: one .22 equals two .44's. I was just kidding, of course.

I had one like that, but it wasn't a swing out, it was a drop out. You pulled the pin out the front and the cylinder fell out.

This one belonged to my Dad.I have the box and the paperwork. The receipt is here somewhere. He bought it when he got home from Okinawa about 1949 for 17 or 18 dollars if I remember correctly.Incredibly accurate and smooth.First handgun I ever shot.

I've had two of those, one with a 2 inch barrel and one with a 4" barrel. They're cool. I gave the snubbie to my then father-in-law (15 or more years ago); he told me just the other day that he still has it and I'm glad, it's his only gun. I gave the 4" to my girlfriend who, to this day, still has it but has yet to load it - I think she thinks it's a club! Annoying.....

They are cool, as I said, and different!

I have a model 949 H&R with a 5.5 inch bbl, very accurate and for $100 I love it. i like what you did with your's

You're wrong about it not eating anything Cajun, it eats expensive and almost impossible to find ammo...the mythical .22LR.
The front sight is ingenious, and you can always use it to check the remaining tread on your tires! H&R 9 shooter...I like it!
