Howdy SWCA members and everyone who's not a member, yet,

You've seen my shared thoughts and opinions about Chiefs Specials based on information in my database. Well, mine now is our database on the SWCA website.

Mike Helms, the SWCA webmaster, has gone to extra lengths to ensure the serial number column on the database is in sequential order so no matter when I enter a serial number it will fall into numerical order and make our database a viable resource for future research.

Entries, so far, for Chiefs Specials, Chiefs Special Airweights, and Models 36 & 37 extend beyond s/n 244000 into 1962.

If you've made an entry about your Chiefs Special on the forum I probably have it, but if you used X's in the serial number I didn't include it on the SWCA database because the protocol for the serial number column is solely numeric. When I've entered all the Chiefs through 1969, including Model 60s, we'll have to figure out how to accommodate continuing the database with the J's, R's and the current numbering system serial numbers. It will take quite some time to get there.

I also get data from some of the major online auction and sale sites.

If you're not a SWCA member, you won't be able to join any younger! There are other databases, maintained by other members, on the site, too.

I've already received some nice comments about the database and some new data. For now, please go take a look at the database. Please do let me know if I've made a mistake. And please send new serial numbers or revised information to me that you'd like to have included in our database.

All my best for a happy, healthy summer.

Bob, thanks for getting mine in there. I went in and looked it up after you emailed me. I had never perused the database, even though I knew it was there, until I saw your post over on the SWCA side. Great work and easy to navigate.
