I have a S&W 952 long-slide, as well as several different 3rd Gen. Smith pistols, and a Springfield Armory 1911 in 9mm. For range use, and accuracy, in factory ammo, which would you prefer, 115 gr. FMJ or 124 gr. FMJ? Or would it not really make that much difference?

I prefer 124 gr. I feel it's more accurate out of my Glock27 with 9mm conversion barrel. I got the barrel to be able to plink for a bit cheaper, and found that 115 gr just wasn't too accurate out of it.

Of course... to answer your question: get both and see which you do better with (if at all).

Magtech

Hi,

I have a Steyr GB and for target shooting I use exclusively Magtech's 95 grs. JSP flat. Quite snappy recoil, but incredibly accurate. Give them a try if you can get some of them.

Cheers

At one time, Federal 9BP (now C9CP) was the most accurate 9mm. I once shot a one hole 25 yard group with 147 HydraShok, but given the price of that stuff, would hesitate to make a habit of that.

Hornaday once produced a 124 gr truncated cone target load, but that seems to have become a victim of low sales.
