What's a good way to determine which back strap to insert in the grip? Proper finger position on the trigger, etc...

They all feel good :)

I have a question for you , haha. I'm still waiting for mine to come via Santa. How is the stock trigger?

I would say the best way is for you to take all 3 grips to the range with you and try each of them while you're firing. Whichever one you feel more comfortable with when firing is the one you go with. :-)

Very comfortable. At first, I thought the built in safety would be a bit strange. Maybe catch or something. But it's smoother than I thought it'd be.

Unless you have pretty small hands as in you wear a medium size glove that's still loose fitting or straight up wear a small glove then just skip the small insert. It will come with the medium insert installed. If you wear large gloves and they actually fit your hands right then you should try the large. The bulk of people I've let shoot my 9c have all said the medium felt good. But I'm a freak. I like the medium insert on the 9c but on my 40c I prefer the large insert. Don't ask for further explanation because I have no idea. Maybe it's how it fits in the hand during recoil and not just when you grasp it. Maybe. I dunno.

While here at home, I tried all three. Definitely the small is too small. Tomorrow I will try both at the range.

My instructor taught that the trigger should fall between the tip and knuckle of your index finger. I didn't know if the grip size helps adjust that.

I guess I'm odd. In my fullsize .45 and .40, I prefer the medium. In the 40c, I like the small one.

FWIW, I only shoot with the flat baseplate style magazine as that's how I carry my 40c. The small grip really allows my hand to swallow the grip and get a good purchase with the pinky.

Currently experimenting with using 10-8 baseplates too. So far, they seem to give my ring finger something to push against a little better than the stock flat compact baseplate.

Like the feel of the medium better. Shoot better groups closer to POA with the large.

Took me forever to decide. I dont have big hands and went back and forth between the medium and small with my 40c. I shot hundreds of rounds with both back straps and noticed no matter what, the webbing of my hand got irritated. One day i brought the 40c to the range with the largest back strap on just to try it out. I loved it! No more irritated webbings and i could control the webbing a lot better! My shooting improved and havent taken it off since.

Bottom line, try all 3 and see what feels right and what allows you to control the gun best.

It's all up to you. Don't over think it, just use the medium first and if you like it don't even bother trying the other two.

I originally used the medium backstrap and shot well with it. However when I took a pistol course I found it difficult to do mag drops/changes as the distance to the mag release meant I needed to shift my hand position ever so slightly to get enough of my thumb on it - not a good thing if you need any speed at all. As such I've moved to the smaller grip size as that means I can still shoot as well as needed and I can drop the mag w/o needing to reposition my thumb.

This is very much a YMMV and most people that only shoot for fun at the range won't care about easy one handed mag drops. But if you carry then it's definitely something to think about.

Well.......If you dont know. try them out at home to see what it does for you.

Same here! I never thought I'd like the big grip but once I tried it I do not take it off!

I have a medium hand and wear a medium glove but I've found the small back strap works best for me with my FS 45. The recoil feels better and I can get back on target faster.

I wear a size small glove.

I started with the medium strap, and it was too big. I went to the small, and it was too small.

I ended up using the small backstrap with a piece of innertube over the grip, and that seemed to give me a good feel.

Just experiment a little to figure what is the best set-up for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't get to the range yesterday. I'm off to the range in about an hour. I'll start with the medium for a couple magazines, then try the large. I'll post here later.

I was getting slightly pinched by the trigger with the medium grip. Through the large on, and I prefer the amount of finger on the trigger with the large by far, and I wasn't getting pinched occasionally anymore.

Bingo! I'm not even sure you need to shoot it. Just pick the one that feels best and don't over think it. Personally I like the small one best, but each person is different and that's why they gave us 3 options.

I would agree with you, but some people might change their minds dependent upon the way the gun feels while firing. ;)
