My patio umbrella is dirty with little green mold/mildew spots. I've tried to clean it with a mixtre of cleaners, but the green spots are still there.

Who here has an idea on how to get rid of these spots?

Last mixture tried was some liquid purex and some powered oxyclean.

Thanks for you help with this perplexing problem.

A strong solution of Simple Green, scrub brush, and lots of elbow grease. Remember to rinse well when done. Or do it the easy way buy a new one every other year.

+1 for that. It's what I use, and it does the job. My last step is to wash it down with diluted Turtle Wax car wash solution- helps reduce the chance of mildew.

Do what we do in Florida...
50% Liquid Pool chlorine +50% water.. in a cheap garden sprayer.. spray..wait 15 minutes .. brush with hot soapy water.... let dry in the sun..

Yep!. It's even easier to just throw it in the pool and let it sit a while. Then pull it out and rinse.

If it is real bad than the 50:50 is the way to go.

Got about 3/4 gallon of liquid pool chlorine and mixed with an equal amount of water in my garden sprayer. Sprayed the umbrella untill it was good and wet and the next thing I know all the green spots are gone!!!! Didn't even have to scrub it. Rinsed it off and put it back on the patio. Thanks for you help.
