Japan has a highly technically advanced "self-defense force" but have been limited by rules governing where and why it may be, and may not be, used. This Constitutional change will require Communist China to rethink whatever strategies they may have for continued military bullying, and worse, in the Eastern and Southern Pacific. Taiwan has to be thrilled with this prospect.

Time has come to rethink geopolitics as evidenced by Russian aggression in Ukraine and the NATO response. I never thought I'd see the day Sweden joined NATO and likewise never thought I'd see Finland join without immediate, and harsh, consequences from Russia. It's a different time.

Japan, Sweden, and Finland are not countries to be trifled with militarily. Welcome to the coalition!

I can't see Germany ready to "Take over the World", any time soon. A shadow of what it was back then. The national guilt complex over WWII has emasculated them. They will be lucky to heat their homes this winter.

Yeah I don't see Germany invading Poland any time soon, or a rearmed Japan bombing Pearl Harbor again.
However, a Bundeswehr that is modernized and effective is a good thing.
Ditto a Japanese military that is not confined by its country's constitution.
