So I know I would probably get more info in the 15-22 section, but I don't go there so yea...

I have the CMMG .22lr upper for my OR. Is there a way to make 15-22 mags more reliable in it? I feel like I read somewhere once about an adapter that snugged it up, but can't find where I read it.

I have a CMMG 22lr Adapter for my 1/8 5R Sport and use BlackDog 20 round magazines with metal lips (ouch!) that look like VietNam Era M16 20 rounders, so far they have been 100% reliable for my rifle.

YES! Thank you Capt Destro. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'd read about it a few times, but was never able to find it despite a lot of Google searches.

Wild Weasel, that will definitely be my next course of action if an adapter doesn't work. I just like the easy loading 15-22 mags.

Another option for you, is the Chiappa mags.

I have a CMMG Bravo (stainless) conversion unit, and run the Chiappa mags in it w/o incident. They were also a bit less expensive than other options.

They are 28 round mags, and a wee bit bulky, but not enough to not fit in any mag pouch. I have a battle belt configured for the conversion kit. Three Condor double mag pouches hold the Chiappa mags and an old 80's era M16 double mag pouch (with flap/lid) to hold the conversion bolt itself.

Its a thought.

Black Dog 20's with metal or plastic feedlips have worked flawlessly in my DPMS AR .22 M4...same mag works in CMMG. I painted them OD to match Magpul furniture then gave them a satin clear coat. Did not paint the feed lip tower.
