Likely many of you received this notice as well. Not sure it simplifies or lessens expenses for potential purchasers but imagine it simplifies things for the CMP. Glad I have everything I need from them.

The final listings on the current CMP Auction site will end on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:59 PM CENTRAL.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is excited to announce a new partnership with GunBroker.com that will serve our community by improving access and visibility to many of the items we sell. Beginning in September 2025, all CMP Auction and "Buy Now" items will be listed and sold through GunBroker.com, one of the most widely used online marketplaces for firearms and related items.

CMP - GunBroker Transition Schedule

I guess they need to make more money. Wonder if they will still have all the requirements to purchase their items on Gunbroker that they do now?
I'm surprised that's permitted with the requirements for purchasing in the past. Have purchased both Garands and Greek surplus ammo from CMP and they were fairly strict 10 years ago. Sadly I was late to the party and missed out on the Kimber .22s for $400-600.

I actually thought their beater 1911's were really high. I guess because they came from CMP. I tried to sell a few of mine and couldn't get over a grand

I miss the 295$ M1's lol!

I have been buying from them for 30 years off and on. My first Garand did cost $300 with a Danish VAR barrel. The "Rusty" Kimbers were a good deal. I also bought Winchester 52's and Remington 40X's for less than $300, many years ago.

I figure that they are running out of their mainstay Garands and need to sell the new made garands to stay afloat.

THAT SUCKS big time............In addition to the regular cost..........Ya will now bee paying GB fees & shipping as well.... Guess they don't want to accomidate people anymore.........GLAD....I got my Garands and Carbines years ago when we would go the store in Anniston...............I wonder if the North & South store will still be open?

Not trying to justifiy it, but it was bound to happen at some point. They are running out of government stuff to sell. After the Garands, Carbines and M1911's are gone that is it for them to stay profitable. Just count our blessings that we were able to play for as long as some of us did.

I played the game in round 1 of the 1911 pistol lottery. Waited 18 months and got a Remington Rand upper and lower. I was happy as that is what I carried in the Service. My slide was of the wrong style for my frame, so I went for another in round 4. I got a RR frame and a generic contract slide. I ended up buying the correct slide off the bay and put my rd1 slide on my rd4 pistol. So, in the end I got two Remington Rands. I sold the contract slide on the bay. I ended up selling the rd4 1911 at a loss. But, I did get what I wanted in the end. I did bid on a few rifles with CMP, but was outbid every time. Not sure I like them going to GB, but I learn as I get older, everything changes... Oh well. Here's my pride and joy.
