especially after seeing the BIG $$$$ the larger schools spend!! :eek:

Last time I was at Coastal Carolina I think they had a 'ball field' instead of a stadium.:D


I just looked up that Brooks stadium is named for the chairman of Hooters.

CCU is in Conway, SC. 'Conway' Twitty took his name from there. It's just down the road from Myrtle Beach.

Never seen a scrappier bunch of kids who so obviously love to play the game and love each other. Their coach of 21 years,Gary Gilmore, refused to even attend a game in Omaha,citing his desire to go only when "his boys" took him there. They not only took him there,they took the whole ball of wax! Any true baseball fan will realize that this is a quality program which has made the playoffs in 14 of the last 16 seasons. Some characterized them as a "Cinderella" team. Not hardly! Congrats to them and coach "Gilly".

One of the best CWS I have ever followed. They played every game that could have been played. CCU was a scrappy team that just kept playing and winning.
Congratulations to the Chanticleers!
 
I was hoping my Oklahoma State Cowboys would go all the way and they had a seven game winning street until they played Arizona then their bats wore out. I'm glad a little school won all the marbles, I wish it would happen in college football but there's no chance for that.
