i have a box of ammo was told it was 1920 now i found out it is from the teens. the ammo is remmington .32 cal black powder open box 46 out of 50 original box excellent shape.
Welcome to the forum. I assume you're looking for a value. Photos would certainly help, but black powder .32 S&W is fairly common. Does it look like the box on the left?
I think you were given overly optimistic advice. I would value it at $10-20. I had several boxes from that era at last week's show and there was no interest in any of it. Seldom is, although I did move 2 pristine pre-war boxes of 32 S&W Long. They only went for 30 bucks each.
My opinion only.
Ed
well the one ammo guy offered $65 for my box but said i really needed to get on this site i would get more. but i don't know just going by what everyone saying so.
If he will give you $65.00 dollars, take it! If you get back down to the realistic value of $10.00 to $20.00 dollars, let me know and I will take it off of your hands.
take the $65 and run before the guys in white coats come and corral that ammo. buyer! I bought, at the june meeting of the S&WCA, 25 unopened boxes like yours of .32 and .38 cal., various makers, of same vintage and most were rarer than the partial Remington box you have. I paid $20 a box for all 25 boxes. Ed.
I have been a cartridge collecter for 45 years, so I do have some experence. First off small handgun ammo does not generate much intrest of value. While it is a nice box, these are quite common. I would have to agree with others in estimating the value of this box under $50.
, caliber, condition, age and maker determine value. I happen to like Remington but it doesn't bring what Winchesters and others will bring. 32 S&W is not desirable. I have several of the same boxes in various calibers, one in 38 rimfire unopened, and I stopped bringing them to shows. no one has any interest
