Collecting/accumulating 629s 66s 57s 53s 29s 27s 25s 19s 18 17

I honestly had no idea I had this kind of OCD in me.
But it's like a quest. Baseball cards…
The parameters are small.
I don't need an AR. Not really craving a 1911 but maybe some day.. no use for a Glock.
I'm not even looking for SW models 10 or 15. Or 13 or 14.

Maybe one or two 57's are enough.. I just acquired a 4" 53… but I'm thinking nickel 53 now. A lot harder to find.

Only need two more 25-5's to complete the set.

I do want to learn some smithing skills beyond the tinkering I've done on a couple.
I would love to refinish my 6" 27-2. It's ok… couple of rust spots and a scratch and it shoots great… but the hobby is drawing me into every aspect.

My philosophy has always been to buy what I like, first and foremost. I don't think you can go wrong with that. I think that's why alot of enthusiasts have concentrations in one thing or another. Maybe its a particular model, a frame size, a period of time, something they carried on duty, etc.. I see that quite often with many collectors. Everyone is different and its what makes your gun assortment/collection/accumulation uniquely your own!!!

My ordnance budget is completely blown, at least thru 2027 (probably well beyond), not including silencers, which are not firearms. It is the same with all accessories. If it doesn't go 'bang!', it is not included in the bean-counting. I can justify more silencers without encroaching on firearms aquisition. I get what I like, and I try to be less compulsive about it. However, if the $ are in hand and the particular firearm is there, well, you get the idea.
If I included accessories, add-ons, silencers, stocks, grips, fore ends, and all the other usual gear, I might never get to a zero sum equilibrium.
It would be outa sight as projections go.
Last week I bought a Nazi magazine for an occupation FN M-35. For a cool $200+.
I ain't crazy. Not yet, anyway.......

Amen, brother. I promised the wife that I would take a break from buying firearms in 2025...so instead of a gun I bought some "parts" and built myself an AR-15 8" pistol in .300 Blackout with a suppressor. I didn't really break my promise, did I? Of course now that my gun fund is exhausted, what happens? A good friend is liquidating his father's gun collection to pay for LTC and medical expenses. There are a few interesting pieces, and I'm obligated to help out a friend and his family, right? He's going to have a private sale, but he's first offering these to me at VG prices, and perhaps some bundling. How can I turn my back on a buddy? Honey...we need to talk.

I hate to be an enabler BUT, you can't collect N frames without a Heavy Duty and an Outdoorsman. Now get to it and post pics

Maybe some day.. but at this point it isn't calling my name.
No desire.
I'm sure it's great, and wonderful fun, but I'm going to have to "Friendzone" this one until such time as I might want it.

I started with a goal of having a revolver to match calibers in my Marlin lever actions. Generally, tried to sort of match finishes. Also desired P&R guns. (You will see that I clearly don't follow my own guidelines…)

1894 357 =27-2 5" Blue, 19-46" Nickel, K38 CM
1894 44=29-2 Nickel, and a 629 Mountain Revolver, both 4"
1894 45=25-5 4" Nickel, 25-2 6" with 45 C cylinder
1897 22=K22 CM

All but the 1897 are 16" short barrels, so I'm quietly on the hunt for a TDS.

I've avoided the 41 caliber due to trying to avoid adding yet another stack of bullets to the stash… so far…

I just started in August of 2024 and I am hopefully getting #10 today.

My parameters are the only revolvers I want are S&W. I want one in each caliber offered. I also want a couple dedicated hunting hand ejectors. I have a 686, so no more stainless for me. I would like a few nickel though. Mostly blued with wood stocks is what I like. I like all K frames.

I'll take whatever RM I can get…

You already know you need the 41 mag combo!
