This is an open invitation to all SWCA members and Smith and Wesson enthusiasts in general. The show in Denver this weekend will feature a Smith and Wesson display by Jim and Judy Fisher that was in Dallas two weeks ago at the 2018 NRA Annual Meetings. We have changed up the display by taking a few out and replacing them with something different. If you're in the area stop by and visit if you have time. We will be in the main hall and look forward to visiting with new and old friends.

This is the best gunshow Colorado has to offer.

If you want jerky or black guns, this isn’t the show for you!

This was my second time to attend the Denver show and I just got home. I think it seems to be the best collector show I've ever attended. The displays were all very interesting and worth the trip even if there was no guns for sale. I did see their amazing S&W display and was very impressed. It's hard to wrap your mind around the special order and one only models shown. It's humbling.

There were many nice S&Ws there, many of the other brand and lots of older lever action Winchesters. I bought a Winchester M-1 carbine and now have to wait for it to ship.

A 550 mile trip, two nights motel, meals and admission. Where else could find a bargain firearm. It was well worth it. :)

Thanks for the pleasant conversation. wundudnee

Retierment comments

I know a lot you members are facing retirement. I retired almost 30 years back in 1988. Lets face it you don't need as much money to live comfortably as is predicted. I have always been frugal. Had to raising 7 kids. Now widowed for the third time I still have my guns & shoot often when I feel like it. I like to cook my own meals & visit the gun shop often. Still drive but not at night. My old Colt 44 S.A. is with me now in the safe. Get it out every once in a while & fire a few rounds for yesterday. That old Colt was made in 1926, 5 years before I was born in 1931. Hell, I will be 87 in June. Don't ask me why. My father always said " Clean living & self denial was the answer" Guess I miss our somewhere along the line.

Show update

On behalf of Jim and Judy Fisher, I would like to thank all the members who came and visited us last weekend at the 53rd Annual Colorado Gun Collectors Show. Overall there were 41 competitive displays and we took the Best of Show award. Dad always puts in huge a amount of time preparing for shows like this and was once again rewarded for his efforts.
The committee and organizers of the show should be commended also. This is always one of the best shows around and we look forward to attending more in the future.

Thanks to all,
Jerry Fisher

Your display was stunning and deserved to win. That said, all the displays were very well done and two, Imported Civil War arms and The Birth of Winchester were very neat for me. The show is so good. Every table was worth a look, maybe only a few seconds, or minutes, often much longer and I am planning for next year already. My shooting partner was out of town (my Honey) or I would have stayed longer than four hours and would have spent more, but I was fried from sensory overload and had scored what I was in search of,, for much less than I thought. Thanks to all of you who had tables or displays!

$%^#@&*^%$ I was thinking the show was this weekend and missed it. Really would have liked to see the S&W display and always enjoy all the various western guns that show has to offer.

The Colorado Gun Collector's Show is this weekend!

Resurrecting this thread:

There are often threads that grouse (justifiably) about gun shows, this is not that kind of show. I humbly suggest that if you are within 4 to 5 hours drive time that you try to attend this show.

Last year I was on a one item quest and succeeded. I learned a lot at the show and a little bit more over the course of the last year. I will be happy to just attend and look around, but if I should see;

A nickel plated 19-2 or
An 18-2 or -3 or
A Kit Gun or
A fine Milsurp or
The unicorn, A Manurhin Mr73

I will be ready! I admit it, I am actually excited about a gun show!

I snapped a pic of the flier for the show in case you need any info.

See ya there!

We are coming back again and are changing it up this year. The display this year features Model of 1940 Light rifles, Mark I and Mark II. Should be fun, they haven't seen the light of day for awhile. If anyone is in the area of Gillette, Wyoming on Wednesday, May 15 the display can be seen at the local Sportsman's Warehouse from open to close.
