Does the new Colorado gun law ban the possesion of all magazines over 15 rounds or does it only ban new sales ? Are they thinking about trying to confiscate those already in private hands ?

Sad day for good people.

You can keep your magazine, but you will need to establish proof that you got
it before July 1. I will do a notarized photo.

But if it has a removable floor plate, even on a 7 round 1911, it is also illegal to trade or dispose of in the state.
Which makes all semi-autos useless. And un-saleable.

Also you must maintain possession of your illegal magazines. Se my post from last night.

I am thinking a quick Court overturn.

someone else pointed out this idea:

Suppose you want to transfer a hi-cap gun in the future to a specific person, such as a grandson. It would be wise to have that person BUY any needed hi-cap magazine now before the law goes into effect. Or say that person has plans to get a Glock or AR gun in the future. Just buy the magazine now and put it away.

Given that already a few pro-2A County Sheriff's have already expressed publicy a no enforcement policy of these Draconian laws, I would imagine there will be a fight ahead to repeal these laws that represent the wishes of a tiny majority at the expense of the lawful pro-2A majority.

My state has reciprocity with Colorado, for my carry permit.
I'll have to look into how that affects me, next time I carry there. I thought it was a lot to keep up to date on, before. Yeesh. :(
