A few days ago I had a chance to shoot two vintage 2" Colt Diamondbacks, owned by a buddy. Both Blue, one engraved.

While I am a S&W Revolver kind of guy, I do like the Diamondbacks [and Pythons to].

One thing that I did like on these 2" Colt revolvers was the sights.

The front blade looks thinner, it was easier to line up properly.

Also the sun was low in the sky and coming from the left.

The Colt rear sight was much easier to see under those conditions than the rear sights on my S&W 44 Mags and 22 LR Kit Guns.

The Diamondbacks were plenty accurate. I do not like their Double Action, as well as the S&W, but the little guns do handle pretty good

They do have a certain amount or "Cool" factor as well.

I've owned a two DB's. Fine revolvers. Nice to have 6 rounds. Not impressed with DA. SA was nice. Not particularly remember the rear sight notch. Front sight was not the older round top blade but rather a broad ramp. Neither was a target revolver but both were accurate out to about 15 yds when fired with standard .38 Special ammunition. Grips were nice. Overall, must say that I prefer a K-Frame snubnose revolver. JMHO. Sincerely. brucev.

I've got a few of both Colt and Smith snubbies, and while I can't totally endorse one over the other,I have to say that this one has been carried and shot more than the others. Twenty years ago,it was my constant companion. The wear it shows is a testament to that fact.

I think the snub DB actually has a 2.5 inch bbl., not 2.0-inches. Been a while since I owned one.

What do you think current value of snub .38 DB in 98% condition is now ?

For collectors there is one answer. For concealed carriers there is another answer. The trick for collectors is to get them WHILE they are still at 98%.

I dumped a lot of water scarred snubbies after my 2018 fire but this old Colt Agent did well!

Glad it & you survived. My place barely survived The Black Forest fire 8yrs back. Took 489 homes, 2lives... Which state ?

Granny Smith, it was just my house fire in Dallas, not a forest fire. Electrical short circuit! POOF! BOOM! But it didn't burn to the ground thanks to the firefighters so many things survived.
