I'm looking for a good gunsmith. Not a mechcanic, a gunsmith.
I have a Colt Cobra (aka lightweight Dick Spl.) with a broken firing pin.(Alright, I know. it's a colt, but it was a DEAL OK!)
If it was a Smith I could handle myself , but Colts are different.
Anyone have a gunsmith that you would RECOMEND please send PM. Prefer someone in west NC, east Tenn , upstate SC, but I'm open to others.
Thanks

Colt will replace the firing pin AND give the gun a complete check up while their at it.
They'll do the job right the first time, and test fire to insure proper operation.

Their prices are competitive with the good gunsmiths, and their turn around is usually faster.
They'll send you an invoice of charges before starting any work.

Check the Colt web site for more info on factory repairs.

PLUS 1 ON USING COLT!

I have to say, the work that Colt has been doing lately has impressed me! I have two shooting buddies that recently sent them 4 revolvers that were mechanically OK but they were old, tired and UGLY!

They came back in just over 7 weeks like they were made yesterday! Colt re blued them, replaced the innards, put in new screws, and went over the whole gun in each case. They charged about $150 for each gun, but from what I saw it was worth every penny.

I am a dyed in the wool Smith Man, but I only wish Colt would re blue a Smith. Their bluing (IMHO) is far superior to the Smith bluing.

Colt has downsized over the past few years, so maybe the smaller crew and smaller shop has helped them keep their QC high. I would recommend them!

Good luck,
