Does anybody have an approximate ship date of serial K263030?

I plan on lettering it, but I was wondering if this was a 1956 gun.

Probably 1956, perhaps someone will be along with more definite information but I have one just a little earlier (K262344) which is listed as shipped in July/August 1956. Got that date based on other ship dates of close SNs. Might need a letter to be certain though.

K2644xx shipped 01/57, so I suspect yours was shipped in '56.

Most likely shipped in the second six months of 1956, but only a letter of authenticity will provide the exact shipping date and location.

Oh yeah? I've located an order by New York distributor J.F. Galef in March, 1946, for 800 revolvers. They would have been SV and S prefix M&P revolvers. He ordered and was sent 400 units with 4" barrels and 400 units with 5" barrels. Now, that is a big order.

Clearly, there was pent-up demand in the immediate postwar period.

Most likely July 1956. What is the barrel length and finish of your gun? Pics would be nice. Jes sayin'........
