The bookmark function on my Yahoo toolbar has become disabled, quit working entirely. Click on it and nothing happens, how do I fix this? Thanks for your help.

1) Don't use the Yahoo tool bar.
2) Uninstall it. Reinstall if it you really have to have it.
3) I'd recommend doing a virus/spyware scan just to be safe.
4) I'd also recommend doing a disk scan for any corrupted blocks. Open up an explorer window, right click on your "c" drive and select properties. Go to the "tools" tab. Click the button for error checking. Select everything and run. It will tell you it has to reschedule it for next time you reboot. say "yes" and then after the window closes, reboot your machine and let it do the scans.

I second this and will add no sane and knowledgeable computer user would ever allow the installation of any such toolbar.
they are more often than not, trouble waiting to happen.

Yes, this is true. Most tool bars are just a pain. No need to use them.
Many programs try to sneak in these tool bars on a software install. Some of them are hard to kill also.:D

They have the Yahoo toolbar on the Internet computers at work because Internet Exploder does not have a pop-up blocker.

This may sound like a silly question, but are you sure it is the Yahoo "bookmarks" that do not work rather than the Internet Explorer "favorites" pulldown. The latter often "greys out" using IE7 on XP for no good reason.

My long term advice is:

1) Stop using Internet Exploder. Get Firefox or even Opera

2) Ditch the Yahoo toolbar.

Also take your time when downloading some software, make sure any installation of tool bars are unchecked.

You must have a pretty old version of IE at work... Pop-up blocker has been installed since v6 I think.

Again, as said, don't install the toolbars. At best they are extra bloat you don't need, at worst they are akin to spyware.

I use Firefox and Google Chrome, Internet Exploder is only good for one thing... downloading a better browser.

+10
it'd be +100 but I also recommend keeping an install of firefox on a CD in your PC crash kit so that when you reload your OS .. you never have to use IE at all.
