Last evening I closed the lap-top to the point the screen goes dark and left the unit while attending an American Legion baseball game. I returned home after a couple hours and upon opening, found everything magnified and I did not make any changes. I have rebooted and tried to "System Restore" twice, message said "System Restore" failed both times. I am unable to find anything in the control panel that has any control where anything tried will work, do I have a virus or just too computer illiterate? Anyone help? Please! Sorry if this in not appropriate for this lounge area, no problem if it needs to be moved. Thank you, Sam.

Control Panel, Appearance and Themes, Display, Settings - What is the Screen resolution?

OR

Hold down the [Ctrl] key and press the [-] (minus key).
Holding down the Ctrl and - or + will reduce/enlarge screen display.

I'm preparing to check and answer your questions, just wanted to acknowledge that I have your instructions and am trying to follow them. Thank you, I'll be back shortly.

Ashamed of showing my ignorance and do not wish to take up any more forum space than absolutely necessary to resolve my problem.

Chattanooga Phil is the best

My computer has been restored to normal and it is dew to C-Phil's patience and expertise, thank you Phil and all for your indulgence.

Thought I would mention that if you try System Restore and it fails to work, re-boot in the "Safe Mode" using the F8 key upon restart. Some anti-virus, and malware programs interfere with the System Restore function. Once booted up in Safe Mode, System Restore should work normally.
