Concealed carry/IWB opinions S&W 19, 586

Just wondering what/brand/who makes an IWB holster for a 2 1/2" model 19/66? I really like the gun and would carry it more if I had a holster like this for it. Also, and this is probably a shot in the dark, but does anyone know of an IWB holster for a 4" 586/686? Preferably with a body shield for both, since I own blued revolvers and to keep the hammer from digging into the extra meat I have in that area.

Thanks for any help. If I can't find something reasonable from a established maker, I guess I'll have to buy some leather and get to sewing.

Check out Simply Rugged Holsters website. Their Sourdough Pancake can be had with IWB straps. Excellent company, I have three of their holsters.

On the website it shows a Sourdough is 60 bucks and the optional IWB straps run $15 extra. Many other options are available too.

I am curious abou this too i just picked up a 66 and it seems like nobody make a IWB holster for it.

I've got a Wild Bills' Concealement "Summer Special" that I carry a 4" Model 66 and a 4" Model 64 IWB. I've had it over ten years, it is high quality, comfortable, and conceals the revolvers nicely.

I have lost a few pounds over the past couple of years, carrying the revolver inside the waistband helps fill out my too large pants and belt. I'm on the last notch of my belt, if I lose any more weight, I'll have to break dfown and buy a new belt and blue jeans....

There are more than a handful of reputable holster makers who make K-frame holsters.

Have a look at: Tucker Gunleather: Revolver Texas Heritage IWB

TT Gunleather: Reinforced mouth IWB Holster "Mikes Special"
(I emailed the owner, who said that 2.5" K frames are a holster he can make...his website specifies only 4" K frames...but he can do it, easily!)

Fist, Inc is another good company that makes a K frame holster!

And many more....just go to some of the major holster makers websites, and look at their "gun list" to see if they make one.

Report back once you find one!
(i will do the same, as I am in process of getting my 66-5 snub back from my dad!)

p.s.--do a search for my recent thread: "need your convincing...66 snub", as the thread has lots of good advice on how people carry their 66/19 snubs!

Mine rides in a Kramer #3. You might also give Ray at Lobogunleather.com. Great product at great prices without a long wait.... and he is a fellow forum member. I know of no one that is dis-satisfied with his product.

Lobo Gunleather, Lobo Gun Leather - Home, has some very nice ones.

He's a forum member. I purchased one of his holsters for my 325 NG. Good quality, good price, good turnaround time, and he answered all my questions. Plus, he's a really nice guy to deal with.

Good ideas so far, keep 'em coming. Lobo looks good, and is more along my price range. Despite all the good reviews on simply rugged, the holsters look a little too large for me. Ideally, if I could find one like Bruce Willis used in "The Last Boyscout" I'd be happier than a pig in slop. Anybody have an idea on that model? Thanks for all the help.

Last Boyscout leather appears to be a Bianchi "Pistol Pocket" Model#3 with the thumbreak removed. Wore one of these on duty for ten years.

The belt tab rotates 360 and is very versatile. Can be worn crossdraw or straight draw, with various cants. Still have mine use it for a 3" 65.

I looked up the pistol pouch and read mixed reviews on optics planet, but if you used it for ten years, I value your opinion. The most common complaint it seems was that the holster flopped around no matter what belt was used. Can you give me a more in depth review? Pros and cons from your standpoint? I am really leaning toward this holster, but I just need a little more convincing I guess. Thanks

I've posted this before in other threads. I'm a big fan of Seth's Gun Leather. I have his Wraith IWB model for my 3" S&W 65 (FYI, I like the holster so much I ordered another one for my 642). I've worn it as long as 16 hours with excellent comfort. I'm sure he can make it for a 2.5" 19 or a 4" 586. He uses a small body shield, but if you contact him and let him know your concerns he might be able to help you out with that; he's pretty open to tweaking his designs for customers' personal needs.

It is a leather IWB with body shield and 2 snap straps. The snaps are offset from the gun similar to those like the one in the above picture, but it is narrower front to back (snaps closer to the gun) than most similar styles and fits my body and lifestyle choices (cloths) better than the wider ones.

I like them enough that I have them for 4 inch L frames and 4 inch N frames, as well as for several medium to large semiautos.
