Concealed carry Permits online?

There are a few online 'Academies' like this. Many are NOT actually recognized by the issuing States. I don't recall if this is one of them, or not.

If you need to do a course, to obtain a permit, contact your State's page to see if they do indeed accept online courses.

Rob I'm good, I have a permit from the state of North Carolina. I did my required class time and required range time to get it and this sounds a little to easy to me but if it is on the up and up i'm all for it i am a true believer in law abiding citizens not having to jump thru so many hoops to exercise our 2nd amendment rights. Have a great 4th my friend:)

Iowa does not require that the course be taken in a classroom. I don't remember there being a fee associated with the one a friend of my took.

Pass the test and get a certificate via email. Take the certificate to the local sheriff and viola................there you go.

I got this link in an email today from personal defensive network about concealed carry permits online, Sounds like horse hockey to me. But i may be wrong.Thoughts?

It may or may not be horse hockey. I paid $60 for the in-person NC course.

My thinking is this: I enjoyed the in-person course. I liked the personal interaction with the instructor, the back-and-forth discussion with the instructor and the other attendees. It was fun. It was also enlightening to see how many people were/are totally unfamiliar with any aspect of handling a firearm. I spend (waste?) enough time on the computer, don't need more online stuff cluttering up my time.

An online course, even if it was legitimate, would have zero interest for me...I simply wouldn't fool with it.

That won't work in Texas for a new CHL. Renewals are different; there is no course any longer for renewals. Eminently sensible methinks. But the first time, you MUST take the course; it's at least 4 hours, it might be six - I haven't taught one lately so I can't recall offhand.
