C'mon guys, is no one taking advantage of the ease of recording your opinion with your elected officials?! Apathy is our biggest enemy!

I'm trying

The website does not seem to want to work but I will continue to try and share the link. Thank you for posting this link

neubert, thanks, I tried using a different browser and got a gateway timeout on the second link, (support or oppose "Commonsense Gun Laws"). The other links are all working ok that I can tell. I think the site may be getting a lot of traffic right now. I can only hope it's from our side.

Done. I even got to write a nice, but strongly worded note with it haha.

I like how they named it the "Common Sense" bill in hopes of making it seem stupid to oppose it. The next one will be the "I love steak" followed soon after by "Vote yes or puppies die."

Hit this poll, we've got alot of catching up...

Yeah, they do like to stack the deck.....

This so-called "Common Sense" gun control bill is sponsored by Bloomberg's mayors group, that should tell you what it's about right there...

Hit it, write a note or letter if you can, and let your law-makers know where you stand!

https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/113/x101 MAKE SURE YOU OPPOSE!

The link worked fine for me. I posted the following note and they found and sent it to my state "representatives"..

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because we all know that implementing this or any other gun control legislation will do absolutely nothing to prevent further tragedies. The ban did absolutely nothing in the 1990s and will do nothing now. There is zero evidence that gun laws will prevent these types of tragedies from occurring again - and we all know it. The real tragedy is that while the nations politicians talk and manuver on and around gun control "nothing" is being done to restore the moral fiber in our country - which is the true problem. We do not need more gun control, we need to address the issues that Washington has allowed to tear apart the very moral fabric of our society over the past 30-40 years

Feel free to forward to like-minded persons.

Mostly bad bills to oppose.
Two good ones at the bottom of the list.

Go to LINK for sending messages to federal elected officials and enter these short messages for your elected officials.
The system will remember your name, etc., so you only need to enter all that once.
After that, its cut-and-paste to hammer each of the respective the messages forward.

Please send a separate message for each bill

Please support H.R. 133 (sponsor: Representative Massie)
This bill would end federal law requiring that areas around schools be designated as "gun free zones."

I don't think Feinstein's idea has a chance of passage and I'll bet she thinks so also. This isn't meant to pass. What's going to happen is that there will be a "compromise" bill that will pass and be just as onerous. Check the above mentioned bills and you'll see where this is going.

finally got it to work

Finally got it to work but boy more people need to weigh in on the "common sense" gun law. We are loosing that by as large a number as winning in the poll on "assault weapon ban".

If we do nothing we are guaranteed to lose, and "assault weapons" will only be the beginning, revolvers will lose also.

Of course it is largely supported. Who could possibly oppose "common sense" legislation.

The poll itself is biased bs. I wrote my own response and sent it in...

Simple answer, our government as it stands now. They, who all have armed guards protecting them, think guns do nothing but kill people and we must be disarmed so that doesn't happen. Well do you see any of them putting their money where their mouth is and getting rid of their armed guards, or Obama 's children attending a school that isn't guarded by armed guards? NOPE... they know guns in good guys hands do good things. They want us disarmed for different reasons.

Thanks for the OP, I responded and left my note of explanation:

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because...the only guns you will ever get are honest law abiding citizens’ guns. EVERY SINGLE mass murder in this Country has happened in a no gun zone which tells criminals and crazy people this is the place to target. Please don't make me and my neighborhood "the place to target". Right now gun owners don't know who has a gun to protect their home and family so they take a risk at every door they approach. As soon as you take our guns, they will know our homes are no gun zones and we become sitting ducks seconds away from needing a gun to protect us while 911 is maybe 10 minutes or more away. YOU have armed guards protecting you; Obama has armed guards at the school his children go to; we know you know guns make people safer, lets start using them for that reason rather than disarm the people who are the solution not the problem. I say that because every country or jurisdiction where good people cant have guns, violent crime increases 300%, that's because the numbers say 2 out of 3 bad guys are stopped by good guys with guns; the police can not do the job alone, especially in a disarmed citizenship.

One of the people I sent this link onto emailed me this morning that they have taken the petition down????

Here's an email I just got this morning the people on this thread might appreciate:

This is a good example of how the controlled media operates!!! What a cover up!!! Please forward to those on your list and write your local media why they didn't print the strory.
Subject: Shooting in San Antonio

On Sunday, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It's like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!

Now aren't you wondering why this isn't a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting? There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone.

So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened. Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you'd like to know.
