I oppose The Toomey-Schumer-Manchin Amendment because I oppose laws for the sake of laws.
This "proposal" would accomplish nothing to stop another shooting that was the current trigger for the assault on the 2nd amendment.
If you want to protect children, put guards in schools. The "We don't want our children walking past people with guns" argument doesn't work in this country. Here, guards and policemen are there to help, rather than suppress, so comparisons to other countries is irrelevant. My parents were taught they could trust policemen, I was told I could trust policemen, my children are taught they can trust policemen - walking past them will not cause some terrible trauma, but watching helpless people die certainly could.
