I wish S&W would come out with convertible models like Ruger. I know they will, or used to, fit 22lr cylinders to model 48's, but it what if they offered a 640 with 357 and 9mm cylinders. How about a 3" 19 with a 357 and 9mm cylinders. And my favorite would be a 625 with 45acp and 45colt cylinders. I know the diameter of the 357 and the 9mm is slightly different, but Ruger has been doing this for years and both the 357/9mm and the 45colt/45acp versions shoot very well. The 9mm is slightly less accurate in my experience, but fine for plinking and inexpensive practice. The 45colt/acp's that I have owned/tried were extremely accurate in both cartridges provided the throats were sized correctly (.4524 for both cylinders, I believe). I'd really love to see the a model 22-4 (or would it be a 22-5) come out with the two cylinders. And obviously, the model 617 and 18 with 22lr and 22mag.
