Copper bullets, so far they're fine.

Just bagged a decent deer tonight. This is the forth one on in a row with copper bullets. I haven't had any problems whatsoever, in fact the bullet performance has been outstanding. This is with a 30-06, 150 grain copper bullet, loaded, Hodgdons 4350, what on paper should be 2900 fps, slightly under max.

One shot approximately 100 yards, straight through behind the shoulder, out the other side, medium exit wound, plenty of meat damage on the off shoulder, ran 50 yards, lungs destroyed.

One front quartering shot, approximately 100 yards, bullet stopped under the skin off side thigh/hip, lungs and heart destroyed. DRT

One neck shot about 100 yards under the chin, nice exit wound on the back of the neck, maybe 1-1.5", obviously DTR.

Tonight, 30 yards, straight on from the front, low neck, bullet went straight back through just under the spine, I couldn't find the bullet or an exit wound, I think it might have ended up in the pelvis somewhere cause that's where the damage went. DRT

I have a biologist friend, he bands birds including raptors, I take his word for it, lead messes them up. So I have made the switch and I have had zero problems so far.

I like monos as well, both pistol and rifle. Big fan of Barnes.
