Hey Studs,

Received a notification a few minutes ago from a great friend.
Offering some really Pre-Covid price on about 150-200 rds each the above listed ammo.
I have relegated myself primarily to Speer 124gr +P, 147 gr, Federal HST +P/None +P, my remaining Hydra-Shoks and Remington Golden Sabers 124gr BJHP.

Yet, I am ever opportunistic!
Who has experience with Cor-Bon, Buffalo Bore, Honey Badger and Double Tap Ammunition?
Tell me your thoughts and experiences if you don't mind.
This would be off & on EDC only.

Thanks,
Reggie

They are all premium ammunition. How can you go wrong?

All true.

Cor-Bon in .45 Colt caused a .45/c Single Action Army replica to shear off it's ejector rod housing screw, sending the whole contraption down range. Use it in stronger guns!

Buffalo Bore is excellent. I've used it in self defense guns often enough but since I never used it IN self defense I have no real input but it's a hot load, too.

I would go for it. But in 9mm test before you rely on it. Unusual bullet profiles and power levels will choke some otherwise reliable handguns.

Cor-Bon has always made fantastic ammunition, no experience with the other brands. Check Underwood out too...

Never used Honey Badger, but you can't beat Buffalo Bore or Corbon. Double Tap is quality ammo but they tend to overstate their velocities in my experience. Still good stuff though.

I watched a Paul Harrel vid once where he compared 115gr +p+ 9mm ammo from Federal and Buffalo Bore. The standard +p DoubleTap 115gr out ran both.

I like Buffalo Bore also. Double Tap is my go to for 10mm.

Last time I used CorBon was back in the 90s when I had some 9mm 115gr JHP +P. Ran fine through my Beretta 92FS. Can't comment on current production.

I've used Buffalo Bore's .38 Special FBI loads, in both +P and standard pressure. Their standard pressure loading is my favorite version of the FBI load and I try to keep at least one box on hand. Can't comment on other calibers.

Haven't tried the other brands.

Black Hills (maker of Honey Badger) is first rate in all ways. I have a bunch of Black Hills in various calibers and configurations and swear by it. The Honey Badger may be a bit light in recoil to function your platform; I have it in .380 and it took about 600 rounds of standard ball and other heavier recoiling stuff to get the pistol (Glock 42) to the point it would function with the Honey Badger.

From my experience Cor Bon and Buffalo Bore are both excellent ammo. They run a little hot. I use Buffalo bore to Deer Hunt with a 629. I love the ammo. But both brands if you can swing it. I CANNOT get my hands on decent priced Buffalo bore in .44 or .357 mag.
