Be advised that we received the following text message allegedly from Costco. It's a scam based upon the government stimulus package and Costco members should be especially alert to it. Here's
the text:
Bishnupriy, $130 bonus from Costco! That's the stimulus check for Costco loyal customers: a9ec.info/V39N9hpnRq complete survey in return please!

How would Costco supposedly get my phone number? I have had an account since the 90's but my phone number has changed 4 times without being updated. They have no reason to call me, even deliveries when we built were handled through their contractor.
I am sure some will fall for it. After 40+ years of dealing with the public far too many have no sense whatsoever.

I get notifications from the pharmacy when my Rx are ready.

But no... I would not be expecting them to give me any $$$.

How do they get your number?

I believe that they don't. Instead, they rely on computers to dial numbers perhaps at random or in sequence on the belief that many such randomly called numbers using robo-callers will indeed go to Costco members. My wife and I are not Costco members but my son is.
