I tried to post something earlier and I think it's lost in cyberspace. Here goes again!

Can anyone tell me about CT grips for a 686 snub nose for carry at 3-4 o'clock?

#LG306 seem to be slimmer and more concealable than the #LG308 Hog Hunter style right? Or is the Hog style just about as concealable?

Are the Hogs much more comfortable or is it a wash?

Etc. Etc.

Anyone tried them? Anyone seen them in person?

Any help will be appreciated. I can't find any to try around here and probably will have to just order them up online.

You want the LG306. I have them and they're nice.

The hogs, as I recall, are bigger. I suspect they are made for field carry rather than concealed.

The butt is more squared off and will not conceal as well as the LG306.

Are you asking about their "comfort" to shoot with, conceal, or other?

Any input is welcome.

I will carry the gun for sure. I need it to hide well on the belt. I want it to be comfortable on the belt as well.

But I am also wondering if the LG306's are comfortable to shoot with at the range.

Like I said - any input will help.

Smaller and thinner is always better to try concealing, but? An IWB holster can hide damned near a cannon? And as long as it's a "tuckable" model IWB, all but the most turgid of target grips would be fairly easily concealed? You may wish to look into some of brother member Wyatt Earp's most recent postings here, Re: inside the waistband N frame carry. If he can do it with an N, you likely can do it with an L frame?

I have the 306s on my 686+ and love them for CC.

They certainly don't enhance the experience of shooting .357s at the range though. One of the grips with rubber over the backstrap would be a better choice if comfort is top priority.

What I do is practice primarily with the same weight .38 +Ps as the .357s I use for carry. The 306s are fine in that scenario. The impact of these grips with .357 loads still isn't close to firing a J-Frame with .357s.

For a strictly carry gun I'd be most likely to go with nothing larger than these? (see link below) BUT, that's only for ME, with MY hand size, MY waist band size and for MY idea of their most useful offering in the application. Grips are like finger prints, with no two peoples being alike?

But as you can see, they're not available for yours?
Below would be MY choice for "next best" but you lose the covered back strap?

I've got the 405's on my 340 j-frame. Awsome grips.

the 306's are the ones I'm consedering up against the "HOGHUNTERS". The comfort of the Hogs sounds good. But I'm trying to get a little feedback on the idea of concealment.

We'll see!

I probably wouldn't go anything larger than the 306's then? But again, that's only my opinion? Anything for carry is a compromise.

The 306 is the best feeling grip I own and very comfortable to shoot. I wish they made them for N frames. Easy to conceal also.

Marvin,

The other benefit I forgot to mention, is that the rubber on the 306s is a little less 'sticky' than the rubber on the 305 and other 'overmolded' grips.

That rubber on the 306s definitely does enhance CC in that there is less likelihood of difficulty in drawing my J-frame out of my pocket holster and having it hang-up on my pants. The overmolded rubber is more likely to hang up.

Thanks guys!

I like the looks of those 306's a lot. They seem like the way to go.

I'm going to keep trying to get a picture or some feed back on the Hogs - before I spend the money.
