This is a 2 part question:
-seeking opinions on the potential for Kydex holster material to cause greater wear markings than leather on semiauto pistol slide and frames (blue-black + alloy). Seems at one time I read somewhere that this was true. Would appreciate members experience and opinions in this regard.
-can't find much info in the forum about experience with "CrossBreed Holsters" (proprietary name for mfg in MO). Any members with feedback on this brand holster?

Thanks.

You must not have looked very hard! You must have missed my review of the Crossbreed Super-Tuck Delexe I did just yesterday in this room.

As for the kydex causing wear marks, I suppose it's possible after a long time. But I'm more concerned at this point my my gun causing wear & tear on the holster than the other way around.

Actually did see your post before placing mine, but my forum search only turned up 2 comments about this brand, thus the comment "can't find MUCH information..." Just wondering if you and forum member "t3chnoid" are the only forum members out of thousands who have experience with this brand and how satisfied the others are with their choice and how well the holsters hold up over time

JFD,
As you can see (below) I responded to his posting on the IWB model. As well as me using one of their "snap" OWB units too. Both are Kydex shell, leather backed, Horse on the IWB, Cow on the OWB. A Kydex shell style or any other type material for that matter that leaves any of the weapon exposed to other clothing is going to allow finish wear. My M&P 9c already shows signs of it after only 4 or 5 months. But, I don't expect any gun I carry to stay pristine. Indeed, they wear three or four times faster finish wise. So, don't carry one you'll be broken hearted over seeing with it's finish thinning? On the plus side, I've always found the appearance of a weapon a man or woman actually thought enough of too carry, having a very special appeal!
YMMV?

I have had a couple CrossBreed QuickClips (I don't need the double clipped SuperTuck) and they are great, really comfortable and great concealment. My current is for my CS40 and you forget you have it on. I don't think wear from the Kydex side will be much of an issue, I'd bet there will be more wear from the leather side if anything, but my CS is stainless so I don't expect it to show much. I also don't carry "all day every day" so it's going to take a while either way.
I would not hesitate in recommending CrossBreed to anyone, Mark is great to deal with and if you don't like it send it back for a full refund.

Hey Spotteddog and VdrSain----thanks much for the feedback-----exactly what I was looking for. Have a CS45 I am trying to go tuckable IWB for summer carry and seems like the QuickClip is a good option for comfort and durability. Like you V, I don't carry all day everyday but want something comfortable and accessible when I do. And like you too Spotteddog, this primary concealable carry gun has some "character marks" as it is 10+ yrs old and has been carried a fair amount---definitely not a safe queen. Have narrowed my choices down to the Cross Breed and one or two others so will decide soon. Thanks again guys, the feedback is appreciated.

I have a Crossbreed Supertuck for my SW40VE and it's well made and comfortable. Mark is great to work with, and has a great lifetime warranty. I think kydex is less tough on holsters than leather because it isn't as tight. YMMV

follow-up message: ordered a CrossBreed "QuikClip" holster today. Thanks to members for their helpful comments. Have only been a forum member a short time but helpful feedback is what makes this a great forum. Thanks again.
