I'm thinking about trading my 686 CS-1 3" with box for a 625-3 3" in 45ACP. Can you please share some insight on whether you think this would be a good move or not? Thanks in advance.

I would think that the CS-1 3"er would be worth a bit more than the 625-3 but if your looking to shoot 45acp then I'd probobly do it..
The CS-1s have a realy nice undercut front sight & the matte bead blasted finish, It would be hard to find a better L Frame 357 magnum IMO.. I had one & had to sell it to come up with the money for Vet Bills, I still have my Dog so it worked out..
If you can hold off & raise the money for the 625-3 that's what I would do..
I have sold 5 handguns in the past month..
Always hate parting with the good ones & the CS-1 IS..
Good Luck in you Quest for the 45acp Wheelgun..

Keep the CS-1 and save up for the 625. Do believe they are rarer and the .357 is a more versatile round IMO and I'm a 1911 fan. Love mine and only had it a week! Extremely accurate and handles my favorite 158 gr. Speer Gold Dots like a champ. Waiting on a TT OWB for it. It's going to share duties with my 3" 657 as a winter CCW.

Will post pics when the holster comes in.

Jeez, just bring the vaseline and bend over on that deal, cuz you are gonna take it in the butt.

Definitely keep your 3" CS-1. And sell something else for the 625. If it were a 4" CS-1 I would say go for the trade but not a 3". The 3" CS-1 and the 3" 625 are two guns that most S&W fans would sign over their first born for. Both are very rare, and as far as S&W's go are almost as perfect as any S&W revolver can get.

Hi, Here is my opinion. I would personally trade the 686, for the 3" 625...I love my 3" 625. You use moon clips to reload. VERY VERY fast, and it is very very accurate.

I'd trade in a heartbeat, as since I had two 625-3 3"ers, I put one up for sale on auction and got $1450 for it. At the same time, another sold for $1750, although it was NIB. This happened on Gunbroker about 4-5 months ago. I am sure one can replace a CS-1 for under a grand.

Personally I wouldn't, I like 45 ACP in 1911's, I like my revolvers in 357 or 44 mag. I picked up my 3" CS1 about a month or so ago and I'd been looking for years to find one. It was one of my grail guns, but only you know what you want, act accordingly.
