I recently bought a new CSX and didn't like the larger grips panels and backstrap it came with. I installed the small backstrap which fits much better but really didn't like the resulting smooth, bare metal sides of the grip. I ordered a set of sandpaper-like panels off eBay for like $11-$12 just to try them and they're great. They were wraparound but the CSX already has a rough texture on the frontstrap so I carefully trimmed the new material down and it looks and feels great. It has adhesive which you heat up with a hair dryer after installing.
The CSX without the new grip panels...
With the new grip panels...
I also picked a new DeSantis holster for it on sale from MidwayUSA...
Now I still haven't taken it to the range for a workout yet. I want to shoot it side-by-side against my Kimber Micro9 to see which would make the better carry piece.
I'm not one to believe that large capacity is the be all and end all...reliability and an effective round is more important...plus my own skills and judgment. When I was a LEO and carried a revolver for most of my years I never felt underarmed so with an eight or twelve round self-loading pistol I'm confident.
